The school hosted a new student lunch on September 5th during fourth period at the North Council House for new middle school students, to help them get to know each other better and build connections.
“We want new students to feel included and to get to know each other because they’re all in the same boat,” said Zion Douglas, school counselor.
Nine new students were present, each bringing a friend to enjoy pizza and activities such as ping pong and cornhole.
“I brought Hannah because she was my tablemate for a project, and she always made it not boring,” said Barthana Ekladious, fifth grade.
Many new students expressed their appreciation for Woods, liking the smaller grade sizes and classes.
“I like how we get to change classes here. At North Chatham, we only switched classes twice a day,” said Camila Rodrigez, sixth grade.
