How do I ask my crush to prom?

Andie here! This is a very exciting question. First you need to start by knowing who this person is to you. Are they a close friend, a secret crush or something more? This will determine how to ask. First and foremost, you should ask this person the way you want to ask them, not through the expectations of how questions like this are typically asked.

If you and this person have already established some sort of romantic relationship, it would be nice to do something to show that you care, such as a poster with a pun, some flowers or their favorite candy.

If you want to ask someone you don’t talk to much yet, or you are strictly just friends, keep it simple. You don’t need a big “promposal,” just make it genuine. Start a normal conversation like, “Hey, what are you doing for prom?” and from there you can ask them, whether just as friends or if you’re hoping it becomes more.

It’s okay to be nervous. Just remember to be yourself and not let whatever answer you get affect your confidence. At the end of the day, the best way to ask someone to prom is the way that feels most like you.
