As track season continues on, the Wolves are making big progress in their personal records, as well as regionally.
Woods senior Ivy Nuss currently holds our school records in Girls Shotput and Discus. She extended them at the Apr. 15 Durham Academy meet, beating the discus record by almost 5 feet, and shotput by over a foot.
At the same meet, senior Daniela Franco set new personal records (PRs), extending her discus PR by over 5 feet and shotput by almost a foot.
Junior Liam Kremer also extended his PRs at this season’s meets, beating shotput by almost 2 feet, and discus by 27 feet.
In the region they are currently ranked:
Ivy: 4th in discus, 10th in shotput
Daniela: 11th in discus
Liam: 11th in discus
The top 16 in each event will go to regionals on May 9. If they place in the top four, they will then attend the NCHSAA 1A state meet on May 14. The Wolves will compete next on Apr. 23 at Northwood high school.
